Product Configuration

The Product Configuration module allows on-the-fly configuration of highly customizable and dimensional products in order to create accurate bills of manufacturing. Not only does it offer features/options selections, it also contains a powerful rules processor that makes it the most flexible configurator of its kind. Product Configuration can be accessed from Quote Entry, Order Entry and Job Entry through customized screens built to elicit responses about a product. Those responses are stored with other product information for historical auditing and accuracy.

Web Enabled
Additionally, the Product Configurator is also web-enabled. Vantage enterprises using Vantage Customer or Sales Connect can also use the Product Configurator online to complete quotes and orders for configured parts. Inputs are displayed via screens which are entirely user-definable, giving you complete control over screen format, look and feel.

Approval
Once a configuration has been formally approved, it can be pulled into a quote, order or job. An audit trail logs user ID and approval date.

Bill of Material
A configuration can be tied to a bill of material structure containing multiple options. Each option can also have rules attached. Rules are executed during entry of a configuration to correctly configure the bill of material and routing.

Revisions
Each revision of a bill of material can have a unique set of configuration rules and options.

Screen Input Builder
Build custom screens in which product features and other inputs can be entered during quote and order entry. Form controls, such as fill-ins, combo boxes and toggle boxes, may be used to prompt users for data.

Pricing
Pricing can be calculated as a product is configured. Either features/options or rules-based pricing can be applied.

Options
Features and options of a product are defined at design time and selected during the configuration step of quote/order entry to correctly customize the product.

Rules
With an easy-to-use expression builder, you can build your own unique rules to be processed during Quote/Order entry. This creates an accurate bill of manufacture from the features/options selected.

Rules Testing
A rules testing feature allows full rules and input testing to be run during design mode, with reporting available.

Smart Part Number
A smart part string may be built during entry of a configuration which allows easy identification of the options selected at a glance.

Create Part Numbers
Based on security settings, an actual part may be created in the inventory master files using the configured smart part number. Creating the part automatically eliminates manual entry when a new part is configured and ordered.

Integration
Product Configuration provides seamless integration with the Quote Management, Order Management and Job Management modules.
